This site is run by The Transparency Project, a small independent effort to make automated license plate reader (ALPR) deployments legible to the people who live under them.

We compile public government records, news reporting, and community-submitted sources into city-level dossiers. We are journalists and researchers, not a vendor or advocacy group.

What we publish

• - City-level ALPR dossiers: camera counts, contract values, retention periods, data-sharing partners.
• - Plain-language explainers on how ALPR systems work.
• - A weekly newsletter summarizing new filings, contract awards, and cancellations.

What we will not publish

• - Precise camera locations or deployment coordinates.
• - Material that helps anyone evade or tamper with public infrastructure.
• - Editorial endorsements of any candidate, party, or policy position.
